Located on the shores of Stoney Lake, the club has become renowned for its meticulously crafted 18-hole golf course, designed by the acclaimed Canadian architect Tom McBroom. Since its inception, Wildfire has remained a private, family-focused club, committed to offering an exceptional experience for members and guests alike.

Opening its doors in 2003, Wildfire Golf Club quickly became a standout destination for golf enthusiasts, thanks to its stunning views, challenging layout, and commitment to excellence. The course is a perfect harmony of dramatic elevation changes, strategic water features, and beautifully landscaped fairways, providing both a scenic backdrop and a thrilling test for golfers of all levels. Its reputation for impeccable course conditions and exceptional service has drawn players from near and far, with many describing it as one of Ontario’s hidden gems.

Wildfire earned prestigious accolades early on. Golf Digest magazine crowned it the Best New Private Golf Club in Canada in 2004. Subsequently, in 2006, the clubhouse debuted to widespread acclaim, earning the distinction of Best New Clubhouse by Fairways Magazine. Boasting boat access and docking facilities for Stony Lake and neighboring cottagers, Wildfire Golf Club has evolved into the premier destination for private golf enthusiasts in the Kawarthas.

Embodying a spirit of community and dedication to the game

Wildfire has proudly supported and hosted a variety of local charity events, raising awareness and funds for important causes such as children’s mental health, Community Care, and the Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC).

In addition to its philanthropic efforts, Wildfire has hosted numerous Golf Association of Ontario Championships, underscoring its commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a love for golf. Notable events include the Men's and Women's Champion of Champions, the Senior Men's Champion of Champions, and the Men's Mid-Amateur.

PGA Tour Canada 2013 - 2015

From 2013 to 2015, Wildfire Golf Club proudly hosted the Wildfire Invitational, a key event on PGA Tour Canada. This tournament provided a competitive stage for rising stars, many of whom have since made their mark on the PGA Tour.

PGA Tour Canada

  • 2013 – Mark Hubbard: Claimed victory at Wildfire, helping launch his career. Hubbard progressed to the Web.com Tour and later the PGA Tour, where he continues to compete.
  • 2014 – Nate McCoy
  • 2015 – Andrew Ross: Captured the final Wildfire Invitational, cementing his place in the event's history.
  • Nick Taylor: Played in PGA Tour Canada events, including at Wildfire, before becoming a multiple-time PGA Tour winner. Notable wins include the 2020 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the 2023 RBC Canadian Open.
  • Mackenzie Hughes: Competed at Wildfire en route to winning the 2013 PGA Tour Canada Order of Merit. Now a two-time PGA Tour champion, with victories at the 2016 RSM Classic and the 2021 Wells Fargo Championship.
  • Tony Finau: Before becoming a multiple-time PGA Tour winner and Ryder Cup competitor, Finau honed his skills on PGA Tour Canada, including competing at Wildfire. His PGA Tour wins include the 2016 Puerto Rico Open, the 2018 and 2022 Northern Trust, and the 2021 3M Open.
  • JJ Spaun: Built his career on PGA Tour Canada before advancing to the PGA Tour, where he has since won the 2022 Valero Texas Open.
  • Corey Connors: A consistent presence on the PGA Tour, Connors played at Wildfire as part of his early career development. He secured his first PGA Tour win at the 2019 Valero Texas Open, followed by another victory at the 2021 Valero Texas Open. Connors has also posted strong finishes in major tournaments, including the 2022 Masters, where he finished tied for sixth.
The Wildfire Invitational played a crucial role in developing top talent, solidifying Wildfire Golf Club as a premier venue for high-level competitive golf.
