About the Club

Located in the heart of the Kawarthas, Wildfire Golf Club is an enriching private, family-oriented club featuring a spectacular 18-hole layout and spacious practice area designed by noted Canadian architect Tom McBroom. Sitting on the shores of charming Stoney Lake, the club celebrated its grand opening on August 1, 2003 when McBroom flew in on a floatplane to christen this shining new hidden gem in the heart of Kawartha cottage country.

In 2004, Golf Digest magazine selected Wildfire as the Best New Private Golf Club in Canada. In 2006 the rustic Richard Wengle designed post and beam cottage-styled clubhouse opened to rave reviews and a top billing from Fairways Magazine when it was honoured as Best New Clubhouse. With boat access and docking facilities for Stoney Lake and area cottagers, Wildfire GC has developed into the premier private golf club in the heart of the Kawarthas.

As a club with a membership that believes in giving back to the game and growing the sport Wildfire has hosted nine Golf Association of Ontario Championships including; the Men's and Women's Champion of Champions, the Senior Men's Champion of Champions, the Men's Mid-Amateur, the 2009 Women's Amateur, the Women's Four-Ball, the Public Player Championship and the Mixed Championship. Wildfire is honoured to have been selected the host site for the 2017 Ontario Men's Amateur Championship.

The Club embarked on an exciting initiative in 2013 when it was announced it would partner with PGA Tour Canada to host the Wildfire Invitational. In the spirit of giving back to the local community and providing youth with opportunities to succeed in life, Camp Maple Leaf was chosen as the tournament's official charity partner.
